Formed in 1975 in Southend-on-Sea, they came to prominence during the punk era although not really a punk band. Their sound was and still is more reminiscent of Dr Feelgood. Unlike many of their contemporaries they have survived despite a number of line-up changes and a few stops and starts. Barrie Masters (vocals) is the sole remaining original member and ealier members have included Dave Higgs, Steve Nicol, Steve Walwyn, Mick Rodgers and Russ Strutter. Current guitarist Richard Holgarth, who also plays with the John Otway Big Band, is joined by Chris Taylor, drummer Simon Bowley and bassist Dipster.
